Youngsters in the nest!

Well, far earlier than we have in the past, we have youngsters in the nest prior to the New Year! As things stand tonight we have 10 youngsters sitting in the nest between 1 and 3 days old.

We have agreed to breed Steve Moulds from Moulds and Slatter in the Rhondda Valley Fed 10 birds as reward for purchasing the pair we donated to the charity sale organised by Tenny Tipper. Hopefully the 10 youngsters will justify Steve's belief in our birds when he was bidding!

We are looking forward to the start of the Derby Arona proper in the next week. Most of the birds have been activated so looks like there will be around the 2,900 birds in the competition when it resumes. Hopefully our 3 will give a good showing. We will update on our progress through but if you would like to follow please see here:- http://www.derbyatlantic.com/ Our birds are under the names Rasbull-lofts.co.uk and are called Rasbull Bob, Rasbull Jeff and Rasbull Larry (I know...... but blame my son for the names!)

Finally, hope you all had a good Christmas and Happy New Year to all! ;-)

We are now on Twitter & Blog revamp!

We are pleased to announce we are now on Twitter! We can be found @Rasbulllofts. We are new to Twitter but hopefully this will be a good addition.

We have also revamped this blogging site. We completely changed the style and how the blog operates. We wanted to incorporate the website, the blog, facebook and twitter so we can update one and the updates will go to all media platforms. We have activated the comments section on the blog and we have also installed a navigation bar so you can navigate easily from the main website, to the blog and on to either facebook or twitter if required or you can return easily to the website. I think this will be a great improvement to how the site functions.

Hopefully, these changes will allow more fanciers to reach us through social media and be kept up to date with news from Rasbull Lofts.

Update

Derby Arona One Loft Race - We are pleased to announce that our 3 entries remain in the lofts in Tenerife following the 5 prelim races. The birds have been named Rasbull Jeff, Rasbull Bob and Rasbull Larry. All 3 will now be activated to compete when the racing commences in early January.

In our own loft we have the birds all paired up and going down on eggs with nearly all 9 pairs sitting their first round. We have ordered 90 rings this coming year and hoping to really test out the birds we have introduced.

The only bird not paired up as yet is Rasbull Odin. We are waiting for the right hen to come onto the market and know exactly the hen we want for this fantastic cock. When we secure the hen we will then have 10 pairs breeding this year with us.

3rd Test Loft confirmed for 2017!

We are very pleased to announce Mr and Mrs Winder from Newtown, will be our third test loft for the 2017 season. They flies in the Rhondda Valley Federation and will be joining Eamon Wright from Lurgan, N.Ireland and Tenny Tipper from Aberdare in testing out the Rasbull young birds in the coming season. I am very confident Alan and Lorna will thoroughly test out our birds and really put them through their paces having achieved numerous Federation positions in the past. They will receive young birds from all our stock pairs and will report back on their progress throughout the season so we can ensure all our stock birds are worthy of a place in the loft. I want to wish Alan & Lorna all the best in the coming season and hopefully the Rasbull birds can achieve some great performances for them.

Another 2 stock birds joining Rasbull Lofts

We are pleased to confirm we have today purchased 2 new stock birds to join us at Rasbull Lofts. We have been in contact with Paul of S&P Kulpa. Following our purchase last January of a nest pair of his Heremans x De Klak birds from a pair of his stock that have bred 4 x 1st Federation winners, 2 x 2nd Federation winners, we decided that we would obtain another pair off the same pairing, again being a nest pair but this time a cock and hen!

Their sisters are currently in our stock loft 'Rasbull Kulpa 950' and Rasbull Kulpa 951'. All four of their Grandparents were purchased from Hans Eijerkamp & Sons.

'Rasbull Kulpa 951' was successfully paired to 'Rasbull 27' last and in her first nest with us bred a pigeon to win 1st Open* 300 miles (sadly was on entered as trainer), and also 3rd club, 68 birds. We have also sent one from 'Rasbull Kulpa 950' to the Derby Arona race in Tenerife so will be interesting to see how he gets on.

Hopefully these two further additions will strengthen our stock loft even further for the coming season ahead. Pictured below is 'Rasbull Kulpa 951'.

Another test loft confirmed!

We are pleased to announce that along with Tenny Tipper, Aberdare, Wales who will be testing our birds for the second successive season, we can confirm Eamon Wright from Lurgan, N.Ireland will also be testing the Rasbull Rockets for the coming season. This is great news as Eamon is a top fancier and races in the NIPA and will really test the birds that we plan on sending to him. The test lofts will ensure the birds we house at Rasbull Lofts are capable of producing birds that can do the business. This is the only way to ensure the birds we have are meeting the high standards that we have set. All stock birds we house will be expected to produce pigeons capable of winning and performing at the highest level.

Loft Changes

There has been significant changes to the loft today. I have been debating for a while whether or not to extend the number of breeding pairs we house at Rasbull Lofts. The loft underwent a huge renovation just last year to convert the whole loft to 7 individual breeding pens. However, I have decided 7 pairs was not going to be enough and ideally would have a few more pairs. So today, I spent all day ripping out 2 of the individual pens and creating a much larger section which can now house 6 pairs. I am pleased to say we can now comfortably house 11 pairs at the lofts. We have highlighted several new additions to the loft which is the main reason for the changes and we hope to introduce them to you in the next few months. We are now fully set for a great breeding season. We will be pairing up on the 1st December and hopefully will be breeding 4-5 rounds.

Another Great Result

Another great performance and result for Tenny Tipper today in the Maerdy Midweek Club. He clocked 03311 to finish 2nd Open with the same pigeon that was 2nd Club on Saturday! This is the bird that broke his leg earlier in the season and was having only his 7th race today! He has now scored 2nd Club, 68 birds and 2nd Open 180 birds in less than a week!

He is a Grandson of Rasbull Semtex and his father is a direct Koen Van Roy 'Rasbull Rameses':-

Full Brother to 'Lucky Daisy' 6 x 1st, 30th National La Souteraine 16,665 birds. Dam to 'Linda' 20 x 1st, 1st Provincial Ace Bird Middle Distance 2015. 6th National Ace Bird Middle Distance KBDB 2015. Nestmate to 'Linda' 4 x 1st.
Half Brother to 'Blue Dromer' 4 x 1st. Dam to 340/11 'Zwarte Olympiade', 1st Olympiade Ace Bird Nitra Cat A 2013. 1st Provincial Ace Bird Middle Distance KDBD 2012. 3rd National Ace Bird Middle Distance KBDB 2012. Granddam to 'Dromer 104' 18 x 1st, 2nd Provincial Ace Bird KBDB 2015, 7th National Ace Bird Middle Distance KBDB 2015.
Grandson 'Lucky 848' - Legend De Rauw Sablon breeder
Grandson 'Blue Ace' 2nd National Ace bird Long distance & Grandsire 1st National Argenton

The Young bird National from Hythe is Friday and 03311 will be sent to this with high expectations of achieving a very good result. He has had 7 races but not flown further than 74 miles so it is going to be a big step up in trip for him. Hopefully he can pull it off!

Saturday 17 September 2016

2nd & 3rd Club - Rasbull/Tipper

Tenny sent 3 Rasbull pigeons to the race today in the Rhondda Valley Fed and they were his first 3 birds home once again. He clocked 2 of them to record 2nd and 3rd Club from 68 birds sent. Another fantastic performance from the Rasbull birds. Both the 2nd Club and 3rd Club winning pigeons were Grandchildren from 'Rasbull Semtex'. Our No.1 stock cock really is throwing out winning pigeons galore! Check out his profile on the stock page of our website:- http://rasbull-lofts.co.uk/Rasbull%20Semtex.html

16T 03311 who was 2nd Club today was only having his 3rd race due to breaking his leg earlier in the season. This bird is bred from Rasbull Rameses who was purchased direct from Koen Van Roy in February. Rasbull Rameses is a Full Brother to 'Lucky Daisy' 6 x 1st, 30th National La Souteraine 16,665 birds and is Dam to 'Linda' 20 x 1st, 1st Provincial Ace Bird Middle Distance 2015. 6th National Ace Bird Middle Distance KBDB 2015. Nestmate to 'Linda' 4 x 1st. The dam of 03311 is Rasbull 67 who is an inbred daughter to Rasbull Semtex.

16T 03310 who was the pigeon who would probably have won the midweek club on Wednesday had the clock been set finished 3rd Club today to continue his good form. This cock is bred out of Rasbull 27 who is a son of Rasbull Semtex when paired to the Rasbull Aquaflight who was 2nd Open Somerset One Loft Race winning £6,000! The dam of 03310 is Rasbull Kulpa 951 who is another bird we introduced this season into the stock loft with her being a full sister to 4 x 1st Federation winners!

The birds are now performing fantastically well for Tenny Tipper with the Rasbull birds regularly being his first 3 or 4 birds in his team.

Wednesday 14 September 2016

Another fine performance!

Tenny raced the Rasbull birds again today. He sent 11 birds in total including 3 Rasbull birds. They once again performed very well coming 1st, 3rd and 4th to the loft. Once again all 3 were Gandchildren to Rasbull Semtex. Sadly Tenny did not have the clock set for this race due to mix up but based on early times they would have achieved a very decent Open result.
There are now just 3 races left this season with a short race in the Fed this weekend, followed by another short race in the Maerdy midweek club. This is then followed by Hythe which is a National race. Hopefully the Rasbull birds can put up a decent end to the season.

We have sent 3 entries over to the Derby Arona One Loft Race in Tenerife. They were shipped on Tuesday and arrived safely in the loft today. Two of these birds were direct out of Rasbull Semtex when paired to Rasbull Nefertiti who is direct from Koen Van Roy in Belgium. The pedigree of this hen is something to behold and I have high hopes for these birds. The third is from our Kulpa pigeons we introduced to the stock loft earlier this year when paired to an inbred son of Rasbull Semtex. It will be interesting to see how our birds perform in the coming race series.

Thursday 1 September 2016

Well done Tenny!

Racing today in the Maerdy midweek club, Tenny sent 14 birds. 4 Rasbull birds were in the group of 14. I am pleased to say that despite Tenny being out on a limb in terms of loft location the birds performed well. The Rasbull birds were 1st, 2nd and 3rd birds home to the loft. He confirmed this evening that he finished 6th Open from 400 birds. He also collected the pools of £55, which I am told went into his daughters money box!

Tenny's first bird was bred from 'Rasbull Ace Combine' a Doldersum pigeon purchased earlier this year when paired to 'Rasbull 02'. All 3 birds home were Grandchildren to our number 1 stock cock 'Rasbull Semtex'.

The big race is in just two weeks and the Rasbull birds are coming into fine form. The previous race they were 1st, 3rd and 4th from 14 entries and this week 1st, 2nd, 3rd home from 14 birds and 6th Open from 400 birds. Hopefully they can put up a great performance in the remaining races.

Rasbull/Tenny Update

The Rasbull pigeons are performing excellent for Tenny Tipper this season. In the Maerdy midweek club today Tenny sent 14 birds in total including 3 Rasbull birds. He clocked all 3 Rasbull birds within 2 minutes to be 1st, 3rd and 4th to his loft. Sadly the wind and drag of the birds was against him but a great performance again from the Rasbull birds. Tenny has now had 5 races this season with the Rasbull birds being his first clocked birds in 3 out of the 5 races and 2nd in the other! Great start to the season and the results should be getting better as the distance increases. Hopefully with the wind in his favour for his loft position it will not be long before we are in the prizes with these birds. In todays race the first bird was from 'Tomahawk x Rasbull 01' - Grandchild of Rasbull Semtex. 3rd bird was from 'Rasbull Rameses x Rasbull 67 - Grandchild of Rasbull Semtex! This bird broke his leg early in the season and was having his first race today....great performance! Just take a look at the pedigree of 'Rasbull Rameses'! 4th bird was from our Doldersum cock 'Rasbull Ace Combine x Rasbull 02' - Grandchild of Rasbull Semtex. Really pleasing to see our 3 entries all in the first 4 birds to the loft today.

Tenny had another 3 birds in addition to these 3 in racing and they will go to next weeks race. He also has another 6 which will be catching the comebacks this year as they were a lot younger. There are some crackers amongst this 6 including a direct youngster of Rasbull Semtex and a direct youngster out of Rasbull Super-B - please see my last entry on this blog in relation to this outstanding bird!

Jan Doldersum & Son

Just been reading an article on Red Star lofts regarding the Jan Dolderum & Son partnership in Holland. They have just won 1st NPO Niergnies, against 7,989 birds flying 342km. This pigeon is a Granddaughter to 'Superbreedster 005'. We purchased the very last son to be sold from 'Superbreedster 005' in early 2016. At the time Enrico commented 'I hope that there will be great results in the UK with the sold pigeons. 005 is my best breeding hen ever. The pigeon in auction is the last one ever sold on internet ever, you are a lucky man.' He is currently in our stock loft and is known as 'Rasull Super-B'! Please see our stock page for more details.

The winning pigeon NL16-1135752 now known as “Lightening” and was 1st NPO Niergnies against 7,989 birds from 342km with a velocity of 1595mpm.
“Lightening” is a grandson of the “SUPERBREEDER 005” mother and grandmother to 11 x top ten NPO winners and he is bred down from a long line of top NPO and National winning pigeons.

Tenny Tipper / Rasbull Partnership

Just to keep you informed how are youngsters are doing with Tenny Tipper this season. We gifted 19 young birds to Tenny this season for him to race and try out our new pairings. Tenny has split them into 2 groups. 12 in the main group and 7 that will catch the comebacks.

To date this season Tenny has raced two races and I am pleased to say that out of the first group of Rasbull birds Tenny sent 44 birds in total to the first race with his first bird being a Rasbull pigeon '03' who also finished 13th Club. It was bred out of 'Rasbull Ace Combine' when paired to 'Rasbull 02'. This bird is a grandchild of our No.1 stock cock 'Rasbull Semtex'. In the 2nd race once again it was the Rasbull birds that were clocked first for Tenny with '02' leading the way to secure 8th Club. This one was bred out of 'Rasbull Tomahawk' when paired to 'Rasbull 01'. This again is another Grandchild of 'Rasbull Semtex'.

This is a great start to the season and I am sure there will be far more results achieved with some super birds. I am sure Tenny will be keen to close the gap on his club mates in the weeks to come.

I can also confirm we will be sending a team of 3 birds to the Derby Arona Race in September and these will be direct out of 'Rasbull Semtex' himself! I am very keen to see how these get on as the mother of these birds is 'Rasbull Nefertiti'.

I will keep updating as news and results are passed to me!

Update

Just a quick update to say that Tenny Tipper has received 19 young birds from us this year and will be racing them in the coming season in the Rhondda Valley Federation. We have finished breeding now and will putting the birds in a mixed section where they will have access to the aviary and bath.
We will update the site throughout the young bird season with details of how the young birds get on in the races. Anyone who would like youngsters from a specific pair that you would like to me put together please get in touch and we can sort something out. All birds are listed on the stock section but ignore the pairings now as the birds have been split. Quote from Tenny Tipper '11 & 12 stunners!'. Those youngsters were bred from 'Rasbull Rameses' who cost us £650 from Koen Van Roy. So if you would like a pair out of this cock please let me know! Rasbull@hotmail.co.uk for anyone interested.

Breeding Update

Breeding has been busy this year to date. Tenny Tipper has had two batches of youngsters from us with 6 going in the first batch which were purchased via the Rhondda Valley Fed Breeder Buyer. A further 6 went in the second batch. We currently have 10 in the nest and all of these will also go to Tenny to test out as young birds. That will be 22 youngsters and hopefully they can perform very well for him in the R.V Federation.

Good news from Ireland where Eamon Wright was racing a Grandson of 'Rasbull Semtex'. It was his first bird home and he finished 2nd Club in the Irish National from 304 miles. This cock previously raced in the Pigeon Pixels One Loft Race in 2015 and finished 3rd Open - 4th Hotspot Pigeon Pixels One Loft Race 2015 - 124 miles. The 'Semtex' lines are performing very well with limited raced to date. This bird was bred out of 'Rasbull 01' (currently in our stock loft) who raced for Eamon Wright in 2014 and scored 5th Hotspot, 103 miles Pigeon Pixels One Loft Race 2014, 14th Open Final Pigeon Pixels One Loft Race 2014, 176 miles, 6th Club, 195th Irish National 2014, 3,782 birds, 230 miles.

Great start to Rasbull/Tipper partnership!

A good start to the Rasbull/Tipper partnership with Tenny's first bird in the first race of the season being a Rasbull Rocket 2 year old cock. Tenny finished 3rd club from 97 birds. Onwards and upwards for our partnership....I am sure there will be plenty of red cards this coming season when Tenny takes receipt of youngsters from all 8 pairs of our stock birds!

Sunday 3 April 2016

Update 3rd April 2016

All our new introductions have settled in well. We have them all down on youngsters or eggs apart from one pair who are due to lay shortly.
We have teamed up with Tenny Tipper for the coming season and he will be racing our youngsters to test them out in the Rhondda Valley Federation.
6 have been entered into the Penywaun Breeder Buyer where very decent prize money will be flown for each young bird race throughout the season. We are sure Tenny will test the youngsters out fully and hopefully this partnership can be continued in the seasons ahead.
We also plan to send a team to the Derby Arona for next years race. We were planning on sending a team to the Algarve Golden race but due to the timing of our breeding we will be unable to meet the deadlines for shipping for this season. I will update when more news becomes available.

The loft modification has now been completed. Everything is now in order to proceed with the new venture of the specialist breeding loft. 7 compartments each capable of housing 2 pairs of breeders. As you can see the loft is transformed from the old racing loft to the purpose built unit for breeding champion racing pigeons.

We have also purchased 3 birds direct from Holland from Doldersum & Son. We have spared no expense and purchased a direct daughter to their top stock hen ' 005 Superbreedster'! Long Time!!

Wow, its been a long time since I last updated this blog!

I will start by staying Rasbull Lofts is back on track and a major development has been undertaken in the loft. We have been very busy over the last few weeks revamping the loft. We have completely gutted the inside of the loft and have purpose built 7 sections capable of holding 2 pairs each. We are now solely a breeding loft and have been keen to get the loft kitted out for the years ahead. Please have a look below of the changes.

We have 12 children from 'Rasbull Semtex' (please see stock birds on main site) currently in the loft and these will be paired to very selected partners that we will be introducing in the near future. Two new hens have been purchased and will be arriving tomorrow. These are from S & P Kulpa. They are nestmate's and are pictured below.

I will update when new additions are introduced to the loft and will provide details of the One Loft Races which we will be entering this season.
